The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has sentsinger Joseph Mayanja’s case file back to police for further inquiries. in a case in which Robert Karamagi, 27, allegedly set himself ablaze at the singer’s home in Seguku, Wakiso District, and died at Mulago Hospital last year.
Ms Kajuga Jane who is the DPP spokes person said she spoke to an investigator who was handling the case and he told her that although police have not yet got to a conclusion in scrutinising Chameleone’s case, there is some progress that has been made in investigating the matter. She added that since the police have not concluded their investigations, Chameleone is yet to be cleared.
However in an earlier report, Mr Jackson Tumwine, the officer in-charge of CID Kampala Metropolitan South region, said his team had finalised with the investigations and sent the report findings to the DPP to seek further consultations from government.
