Two First half goals from Muwawu Faizo and Mugerwa Yassar were enough for Nkumba University to claim 3points from Kampala International University in the 2nd edition of  The University football league game played in Entebbe.

Muwawu’s  13th minute  strike in the  put the hosts in an early lead before his captain Mugerwa Yassar added another  in the 27th minute.

KIU coach opted for  attacking football in second half  which yielded  several chances for his side but the Ggaba based boys could not by pass Nkumba’s goalie Mutebi Ronald.

“We’ve lost because the referee was bribed by Nkumba” said Akabwayi Geoffrey the KIU skipper he also added that “NO wonder he ( the Referee) is a student here”.

Ndejje University also suffered another home loss following a 2-0 loss to just a week after Nkumba beat them 1-0.

The 3points earned by Nkumba in the entertaining and conflict-ridden game played before a big turn, put  them on top of the league with 9points tied with Kampala University. Makerere University follows with 6points.

Action resumes on Friday and Saturday when Makerere hosts MUBS and Nkozi verse Mbarara University respectively.
