Uganda Cranes first choice goalkeeper Dennis Onyango is looking forward to the national team’s World Cup qualifier against Liberia on March 24.

The Mamelodi Sundowns shot stopper in the South African PSL told Uganda Radio Network on Thursday that has just returned to training this week after recovering from an injury. The former SC Villa and St George (Ethiopia) goalkeeper insists he will be fit for the Cranes game.

Onyango said he had problems with his knee ligaments, but has been undergoing treatment and is back to training.

The goalkeeper who is however not having enough playing time at Mamelodi Sundowns since his move from Super Sport a year ago has been Uganda Cranes most reliable goalkeeper in the last six years.

Among the other players expected not to miss on the squad to be named later today includes Tony Mawejje and Geoffrey Kizito who are already in the country. Uganda is second in the group with two points after 1-all draws to Angola and Senegal.
