Muhoozi Salutes M7 For Making Him Brigadier

COMMANDER of Special Forces Command Brig. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has attributed his meteoric rise in the army ranks to his father Gen Yoweri Museveni.

The youthful Brigadier made the revelations yesterday after being officially decorated by Lt. Gen Ivan Koreta, the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). “I am Brigadier General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and on behalf of myself I would like to thank President Museveni for working tirelessly to promote me upon realising the hard work I have done for this country,” said Brig Muhoozi.

Other Brigadiers who received their pips included 4th Division designate Commander Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, that of 3rd Division Peter Elwelu and Chief of Pensions and Gratuity Jerome Kakaari. Muhoozi took to the podium to speak on behalf of the decorated officers, thanking the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces Gen. Museveni for rewarding their tireless efforts.

He also applauded the NRM regime for the peace that has prevailed in the country, adding he will continue benefiting from his father’s wisdom. “I thank him for promoting us and we will continue benefiting from his wisdom,” he said.

When asked why a specific clique of military officers have been elevated to higher ranks in a space of 9 years while others are still struggling yet they meet army credentials like time frame, fighting wars, discipline and execution of high profile missions, Muhoozi said: “I am not in position to answer that, and I don’t have those details, but the UPDF is an institution which follows orders.”
