The latest FDC opinion poll which flew sparks of verbal exchange between the two rivals Nandala Mafabi and General Mugisha Muntu has now taken a new twist.
The survey by a professional firm Research World International (RWI) commissioned by its director Dr. Patrick Wakida revealed that presidential hopeful Nandala Mafabi is gradually losing support among the female delegates who have resolved to back his rival Gen. Muntu.
According to the statics seen by redpepper online, Mafabi had 25% of female support of the poll conducted from August 25 to September 3 and his rival Muntu had 46% females backing him. In an interesting twist, the latest poll shows how Mafabi’s support with the women delegates has reduced to 20% and Muntu gained the 5% Mafabi lost.
Among the genuine reason the women gave to the interviewers were that Muntu is a gentle man, presentable, he is humble, he is not busy like Nandala, he is patient, hardworking, and has military background. Speaking to Research World International’s Dr. Wakida in an exclusive interview yesterday, he confessed that generally Gen. Muntu has gained his popularity amongst women because the statics reveal that he has improved his contacts with the delegates and was rated to be at 77% followed by his peg boy Godfrey Ekanya and surprisingly Mafabi who claims to be a superstar in mobilization skills had contacted only 57% of the delegates. The poll showed three ways how the candidates are contacting the ‘voters’ mostly through rallies, one to one and lastly through telephone.
“The poll shows that Muntu had increased his popularity among the female on the contrary Mafabi lost 5% because of certain reasons they gave us. More so Mafabi who insists that he is a good mobilizer is the last when it came to contacting voters with 57%. I think he should use this poll to rectify a number of issues,” Wakida said. The poll sparked of criticism by Team Nandala branding RWI an interested party saying Wakida is pro-Muntu.
But Wakida responded to what he termed as ‘trivial allegations’ and said that if Mafabi believes the poll is fake why should he become troubled in fact the best way would be to challenge him by doing his so that the public can judge who is wrong or right. “Ok my poll is fake, why should Mafabi panic? In fact I have advised him to do his. I know he is seriously bruised by the poll but he should embark on canvassing support especially where is unpopular,” he said.
