Uganda’s Fertile Women A Boost To Tourism — UTB Boss

The Uganda Tourism Board Boss has hailed Ugandan women for being productive and that this was a confirmation that indeed Uganda was a pearl of Africa.

While speaking at the opening of the Vodafone Power Talks conference at Kampala Serena Hotel today morning, Mr. Stephen Asiimwe boasted that Uganda has several tourist attractions including hospitality of its people, cultural diversity, varied wild life flora and fauna and many more have enabled the growth of the industry in the country.

He further appreciated the increased population numbers which he attributed to the fertile women in the country adding that population increase provides market to tourism products.

The discussion which has been supported by Vodafone Uganda with the aim of using social media in changing the face of tourism was attended by several social media gurus in town.

Derrick Sebbale, the Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone noted that since Uganda is becoming a fast tourism hub in Africa, Vodafone was ready to help small medium enterprises in the tourism sector through providing tangible technology solutions.

“Knowledge is the most valuable resource anyone can give you. The availability of smart phones and internet has enabled people to share and make decisions on where to travel. We therefore have an opportunity to write a good narrative for the tourism sector,” Said Sebbale at the opening of the 5th edition of the #VodafonePowerTalks
