State House seeks supplementary budget of Shs23bn
State House is demanding for shs23 billion in a supplementary budget to run its activities until the end of the 2017\2018 financial year.
While appearing before the budget committee of parliament, the minister for the presidency esther Mbayo informed MPs that statehouse exhausted its annual provision on several non-wage activities such as classified expenditure, and travels in and abroad among others.
“This is to request you to approve our request for additional funding to a tune of Shs23bn.” Mbayo said.
However MPs on the parliamentary budget committee raised their doubts about the request.
It should be noted that in the 2016/17 financial year, the state house budget was raised from 166 billion to 205 billion as a remedy to several requests as supplementary budget to fund the activities of the president. But now before the end of this very financial year, state house has returned with a fresh demand of Shs23bn until 30th June when the financial year closes.
It is yet to be approved.
