Lwemiyaga MP Theodore Ssekikuubo was on Monday evening arrested by plain-clothed detectives over comments he allegedly made last year that government had a hand in Butaleja Women MP Cerinah Nebanda’s death.
The outspoken MP’s arrest comes shortly after a series of arrests made by police in relation to Nebanda’s death.
Sskikuubo is accused of inciting violence during the requiem mass for his fallen colleague at Christ the King Church in Kampala last year.
He is currently detained in Kireka at the Special Investigations Unit headquarters.
Other MPs that have been arrested for making statements that suggest that the government had a hand in the death of Cerinah Nebanda are Chris Baryomunsi and Mohammed Nsereko.
However, Adam Kalungi, Nebanda’s boyfriend was remanded to Luzira on Monday evening after pleading guilty to manslaughter and possession of narcotics.
The government has so far released a toxicology report stating that Nebanda died of drug abuse.
