Pastor Kakande Grilled Over Illegal Guns

By Serestino Tusingwire

Police on Tuesday grilled Pastor Samuel Kakande of Synagogue Church located at Mulago- Kubiri over a case involving his deputy who was found with two guns and 87 bullets.

Andrew Kaweesi, the police spokesperson, said that police interrogated Pastor Kakande because his deputy Pastor Johnson Muwanguzi insisted the two guns police recovered from his home belong to his boss (Pastor Kakande).

Pastor Muwanguzi was arrested last week over illegal possession of two assault rifles and 87 bullets.

Upon his arrest, Pastor Muwanguzi told police the guns belonged to his boss Pastor Kakande, something the latter vehemently denied during police interrogation.

“Pastor Muwanguzi insists the guns belong to his boss even though the documents show they belong to him,” Kaweesi said.

Although Kaweesi could not divulge the date Pastor Kakande was grilled, a source at Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in Kireka where Pastor Muwanguzi is being detained, said Pr. Kakande recorded the statement on Tuesday.

Investigations are still underway to determine the owner of the guns and further action is expected to take place accordingly.
