NWSC Boosts Sewer Services at Nalufenya Children’s Hospital

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has continued to maintain spotty services delivery as per its mandate.

Led by the area manager, Charles Okuonzi and the senior public relations officer, Agnes Atwooki, the corporation revamped sewage and water systems around the congested hospital which had broken years ago as part of their social corporate responsibilities.

‘’As we commemorate our World Water day, we could not celebrate without knowing what is going on in our community especially as we have our little ones here. We are happy that as NWSC we have brought man- hole covers and we want to ensure that this hospital has no challenges for water and sewerage and our plumbers are maintaining all these broken facilities,” Atwooki said.

NWSC officials were received by the head of children’s ward, Dr.Margret Obuke who commended the water service providers for their offerings to the facility. Okuonzi said the hospital had faced sanitation problem for quite a long time.

Talking about their service delivery, Okuonzi noted that, “We have achieved a lot and recently we emerged the winner as Jinja, so that is sign that we are doing well. We have achieved in service expansion and through Water Communication Clubs we have improved our relationship with customers.”

Strategically located in Jinja, Nalufenya Children’s hospital is the only government hospital serving Children in Busoga including the islands of Lake Victoria, Buikwe and Kayunga.
