rugbyDefending champions faltered in their opening second round game in the Nile Special Rugby Premier League falling 10-5 away to Sadolin Mongers at the ‘House of Pain’ in Entebbe on Saturday.

MTN Heathens, Captain Micheal Wokorach had put them ahead when he swung home a well deserved try and subsequent conversion, following a Benon Kiiza run on 11 minutes.

But with less than ten minutes of the lead, the home crowd were treated to Joy when an inspiring Adrian Wasswa, slotted home from a penalty to reduce the deficit to 5-3.

It looked a cage encounter with the visitors looking weary, and not even the composure of Asuman Mugwera, and Arthur Mukama could lift the yellow machine from their shamble.

They were finally done when a clever Joseph Tamaale try was skill fully notched home to hand the Mongers a 10-5 lead into the break.

It would stay like this for the next 40 minutes and the sloppy “house of pain” sports ground at Entebbe Secondary as it is dubbed, registered its first victory over the Heathens in as many years and matches to hand the yellow machine their second defeat.

Elsewhere, struggling G4S Pirates also fell 27-10 Ezee Money Rhinos and failed to make up for their 29-25 first round defeat. Timothy Buloti, Robinson Mulumba, Abel Ssozi managed a try while James Musitwa added a try, penalty and conversion for Rhinos while Greg Lukendo made a try and Kevin Makmot scored a penalty and conversion for Pirates.

Table leaders DMark Kobs extended their lead by an extra 11-points after earning a bonus point wit a 50-7 whipping of Mutoni Warriors at Legends Rugby Club.
