The embattled Buyaga west Member of Parliament Barnabas Tinkasimire has been released from Kibaale police headquarters on bond.
Tinkasimire was arrested over the weekend for allegedly attempting to cause mayhem at the wedding celebration of Denis Namara, the NRM National Youth chairperson and senior presidential advisor on Youths affairs.
The Groom, Namara recently declared intention to oust Tinkasimire from parliament and has since become his archrival in the constituency.
Police says Tinkasimire was arrested after disregarding traffic directives and driving recklessly into the wedding.
The wedding celebration also attended by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi was held in Ruteete Sub County, Kibaale district.
Ben Mugisha the Kibaale district crime investigation and intelligence officer says that Tinkasimire was released last evening, after a day in custody. His three other aides identified as Twesige John, SundayEdward, and Kyaligonza Idi have also been released on police bond.
They are expected to report back to police on February 18th 2014.
Tinkasimire later told a crowd of his supporters in Muhooro town council that barring him from attending the party and welcoming the President in his constituency was uncalled for. He assured his electorate that he will not bow to the pressure from government.
