LC5 Boss Faces Arrest Over Forgery

By Milton Emmy Akwam

LIRA: ALEX Oremo Alot, the Lira District LC5 Chairman and the Amac Sub County Chief (Accountant) Aboko Harriet will soon be arrested over forgery.

The Amac Sub County Councilors accused the pair of connivance and forging names of Councilors who they alleged agreed to the formation of Amac Town Council.

In a five hour heated council meeting held on Monday at Amac Sub County headquarters, Councilors turned down the offer from Ministry of Local Government granting Amac a Town Council status.

The meet further faulted the two leaders in Oremo and Aboko for wrongfully representing the decision of the Council to the Ministry without consultation.

Bernard Adoko, the Amac Sub county LC3 Chairperson said  Alex Oremo Alot, the LC5 Chairperson traded false information to the public by saying  Amac was declared a Town Council by Local Government Ministry.

Outspoken Adoko said such offer will never come to pass without resolutions from his council, asking the district boss to apologize publicly.

He also blasted the Sub County Chief Harriet Aboko of dancing to the Chairperson’s interest by forging council’s minute for their unknown interests.

Harriet Aboko who was sweating profusely said that she was ordered by the district boss who directed her office to write a letter backed up by council approval.

“I’m remorseful for all decisions I took. I implore the Councillors and the communities of Amac at large to forgive me for responding to the district boss’ request,” Aboko begged.

Meanwhile, a five man committee in Joel Okao Tema, Patrick Olobo, Bernard Adoko, Patrick Okwel Orech (both area locals) and Harriet Aboko was formed to withdraw Alex Oremo’s letter from the Ministry of Local Government.

It came after Councillors of Monday unanimously opposed any move to upgrade Amac Sub Countyinto a Town Council status.

Continuous attempts by this newspaper to engage the district boss for comment over the matter was futile by press time

Both Alex Oremo and Abako Harriet are being accused of forgery and issuing forged documents vide SD REF:l 08/15/05/2017 at Amac Police Outpost.
