First Deputy Prime Minister Eriya Kategaya who passed away on Saturday evening in the Kenyan capital Nairobi will be buried on Thursday according to a tentative programme for the burial that Red Pepper Online has been able to see.
The body of the late Minister arrived from Kenya on Monday morning from where it was taken to Mulago Hospital. A vigil will be held at the fallen minister’s home in Kiwatule, a Kampala suburb Monday evening.
The body of the late Kategaya was accompanied back to Entebbe by Joan, his wife, and the premier’s sister.
Those who received Kategaya at Entebbe included presidency minister, Frank Tumwebaze, Chief of Defence Forces Gen Aronda Nyakairima, Col. Felix Kulaigye and Gen Kale Kayihura, the Inspector General of Police.
On Tuesday, the body of the late Minister will lie in state at Parliament at 8:30am before the plenary pays tribute to Rt Hon Eriya Kategaya.
On Wednesday, a funeral service will be held atAll Saints Cathedral starting at 9:00am before departing for Itojo Ntungamo.
On Thursday, March 7, a funeral service will be held at Cathedral Church in Itojo starting at 11:00am while the burial of Rt Hon Kategaya will be held at 2:00pm at his home in Itojo
