Iryn Lying About Her Age – Ragga Dee

Celebrated musician Iryn Namubiru has stirred up controversy by leaving her fans wondering about her true age.
Last week she posted on her Facebook page on how she had clocked 32 and was thanking God for it.
But as pals talked to Raga Dee over the weekend, he revealed that when he released his first hit song ‘Bamusakata’ in 1994, Iryn was 17 years old and his backup singer in their group Da Hommies with Messe now of Amalula Family.
He said that by 1996 she had completed her A level and she kicked off her music career in her vacation. Later in 1999 she met Juliana Kanyomozi with whom they started their I-Jay group.
So in simple calculation if she was 17 in 1994 she ought to be 36 in 2013 or around that stage, not 32 as she claims. So if you thought Desire Luzinda and Judith Heard are the only celebs living in reverse age, then you got yourself another one.

You only lie about your age if you have issues with your achievements. Ask Dolly or Kenny or Alex Mukulu or me or Mulwana or Wava.What is the trouble if i made my mark at 50 and i employ 1m people with my legacy? What if i was 23 and made £5m, would i call myself 35? If you have not built a real brand when you started young you feel very insecure. Those who loved your music because you looked young not because it was good will out grow it. Age can not be reversed, only looks can so its pointless. Keep the brand or create it then you won’t ‘age’. but you will keep the followers. and the money. I think that is the main worry not the love for your looks, because that is chasing a mirage.

What is she scared of? Lying about her age is immaterial after all she is a mother already.
