FDC’s Ingrid Turinawe Arrested

FDC’s Iron Lady, Ingrid Turinawe together with other FDC supporters have been arrested as they demonstrated against the arrest of Rtd Col Dr. Kizza Besigye.

Rtd. Col Dr. Kizza Besigye has been arrested by Police when attempted to force his way out of his home in Kasangati.

He was then transferred to Naggalama police station and put behind bars.

FDC supporters gathered and started marching to Nagalama Police station where they will demand the release of 2016 presidential hopeful Kizza Besigye.

“Police has fired teargas to scatter the protesters and several arrests have been made,” an eyewitness told this website.

Police remains heavily deployed outside Naggalama police station as supporters of Kizza Besigye make way to the premises.

Besigye was slated to start his campaign rallies at to seek support as the FDC flag bearer at Kasangati playground at 11 am and later to Kawempe at 4pm.
