Gulu Police are holding Richard Ouma and his son Moses Opiru, both residents of Koch li in Nwoya district on allegations of defiling a 15-year-old girl.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa Region Police spokesperson says the 53 year old father has been forcing the minor into sex despite the fact that she was already staying with his 19-year-old son.
In her statement to police, the defilement victim says Ouma has been waylaying her in the garden to force her into sexual intercourse. He says the duo is facing charges of rape and defilement.
Ouma however denies the allegations saying his son connived with his wife to have him arrested since he allegedly caught his son red handed trying to still his cows from the kraal.
He says that Opiru was only trying to make his way out of the theft case but forgot that he too was living with a minor.
Opiru denied claims that his father raped the minor but he was hesitant to comment on the allegations by his father he tried to steal cattle from his kraal.
The defilement victim has appealed to police to spare Opiru saying if he is jailed she will have nowhere to live since all her relatives have abandoned her.
The arrest of Ouma comes barely two weeks after Lovis Odokonyero, the director Bright valley primary school was also failed for defiling a 14 year old pupil at his school. He is out on court bond.
