Ex Uganda Coach Williamson Set for 1st Club Engagement

Bobby

New Gor Mahia coach Bobby Williamson formerly with the Uganda Cranes will be the man on the spot under the Nyayo National Stadium floodlights when his team lines out against Chemelil Sugar in a mid-week clash on Wednesday.

This will be the Scots’ first match in charge of K’Ogalo since agreeing to pen a one year renewable contract with the Kenyan club and being unveiled last week.

Williamson took charge of Gor Mahia as replacement for sacked Croat Zdravko Logarusic. The Scot will face a stern test in his first match in charge against Chemelil, a side that has proved to be a hard nut to crack this season.

The Sugar millers are placed 5th on the table with 23 points after 15 matches. They have won six games, drawn five and lost four.

Williamson could just be the man to take K’Ogalo to the top of the table this season with Gor Mahia lying second on the log, just a point below leaders Thika United, who have played two matches more.

Chemelil will not be an easy pushover for Gor as they have felled giants at the Nyayo Stadium including defending champions Tusker and AFC Leopards’ in the league and KPL Top 8 tourney respectively.
