riffle

Hoima Police are holding one of their own for allegedly raping a female suspect at gunpoint.

The suspect has been identified as Mohamed Ndorereire, a Special Police constable attached to Kijangi Police post in Buseruka Sub County in Hoima district.

Ndorereire allegedly committed the offense on December 19  after he took the suspect to his home about a kilometer away from the police station to take a bath.

It is alleged on arrival at his home; Ndorereire offered his victim bathing water, soap and cosmetics and served her breakfast after she had completed bathing.

According to information obtained from Hoima police after serving his victim, Ndorereire started pestering her for sex in vain. As a result, he allegedly cocked his gun and ordered her to undress or else he shoots her to death.

The rape victim reportedly undressed out of fear before Ndorereire descended on her and started raping her. Ndorereire later led his victim back to the police station, where she brought the matter to the attention of Fred Kugonza, the officer in charge Kijangi Police post.

Kugonza summoned Ndorereire who confessed to the crime. He reportedly mediated between the suspect and his victim and ordered him to clear a debt, which had led to her arrest before she was released.

However, the information reached the Albertine police headquarters leading to the arrest of both Ndorereire and Kugonza. Lydia Tumushabe, the Albertine region police spokesperson says they picked up both cops last week following a tip off from a concerned resident.

She says Kugonza will be presented to the police disciplinary committee for attempting to conceal a crime while Ndorereire will be charged with rape.

Can someone throw some light on this one please! Was it in order for Afande to take the woman to his place to take a bath? Doesn’t the Police Post have the general required facilities like a latrine pit,a bathroom, etc? I think sometimes people just get out of their minds.
