Ugandan Prime Minister, Honorable John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has revealed that it is not criminal for any one in the country to harbour presidential ambitions, however reiterating that he does not habour those dreams.

Hon. Amama made this revelation on Monday during his weekly Press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister in the capital, Kampala.

“”Harbouring Presidential ambitions is not criminal, I dont have them”, Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi said.

His comments come on the backdrop of allegations against him of how he has been clandestinely working to wrestle the mantle of power from Uganda’s revolutionary president, Yoweri Museveni.

The Prime Minister’s alleged presidential ambitions that he vehemently denies came to light in February during the caucus retreat of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party members of parliament that was held in Kyankwanzi, in the western part of the country.

The Caucus accused Mbabazi of misusing NRM Party Structures and involving himself in pre-mobilization activities for purposes of ascending to the highest political office come 2016.

  1. Harboring presidential ambitions is indeed not criminal at all; but working in the darkness is not gentlemanly either. A man with balls would take the bull by the horns and we elect the best amongst them. Do a Besigye and be a man.
