Kibaale police are holding four suspected armed robbers. The suspects were picked up from Nkwaki village in Kakindo Sub County on Saturday in a Police raid, in which a stolen gun was also recovered.
Ben Mugisha, the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations Officer Kibaale district said that the recovered gun registration number 563685260 was stolen from Kakindo Police post in mid September during a morning raid.
Despite the fact that the gun was stolen with 30 rounds of ammunition; they found it with 24 bullets.
Mugisha has declined to reveal the identities of the suspect for fear of jeopardizing police investigations.
The police raid was prompted by a tip off by residents after Boniface Mubangizi; one of the prime suspects was sighted in the area trying to rob one of the residents at gunpoint on Friday night.
Mugisha narrated that they used a sniffer dog to track down the suspects. Mubangizi confessed to killing several people and robbing shops in the area. The suspects are believed to have masterminded the murder of two businessmen in Kihuna village in Kakindo Sub County in mid October this year.
The suspects are currently detained at Kibaale police headquarters waiting to be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
